Jack found my camera

It wasn't lost or anything. It was on the kitchen counter - I *thought* it was out of his reach. But guess what! Jack is pretty clever! ;)

Here's one of about 100 pictures he took. It was on the action setting and I'm pretty sure he walked around the house holding down the button - so it just kept taking picture after picture.

Ode to my UPS Driver

I was busy doing laundry when I heard you ring the bell.
I thought it might be you, but I couldn't really tell.

When I saw the brown blur running back toward the truck,
I knew in an instant that I was in luck!

The box was heavy - you could tell I was in trouble.
So you ran back to help me - you were here on the double!

You gingerly carried that heavy box inside.
When I read who it was from, my excitement I could not hide!

I'm so glad my dog didn't scare you away!
Because you were bringing me the new...

BASIC GREY!!!!

Yes, the new Basic Grey is HERE! Jack just went to bed and I'm all set to play a little bit! I can't wait! I'll be featuring their Romani line in the September Cool Blue Kit. The entire kit (plus a BONUS LilyKate kit) should be up by the first! I'm cutting it close this month, but it's SO worth it! This paper is FAB!!

The Birthday Jewelry

Here's John's birthday gift to me. I had a hard time getting a decent picture of it - because in the pictures it looks dull and "cheap", but in real life, it is so sparkly and gorgeous! I wish you could see that in the photos! It's just dazzling! :)

One more year of Youth

Today is my 29th birthday. One year from today, I will be 30.

And to celebrate my birthday, I put a brand new, very limited, VERY PINK mid-month kit on the site! Pink is the new blue, ya know ;)

To view a larger picture of the kit, get the details, or purchase it, visit Cool Blue Scrapbook Store!

We're having a tea party for my grandmother this afternoon - today is her birthday, too! And she's turning 90 this year! (And I'm complaining about turning 30 a year from today!) So I've got lots to do still to get ready for that! Moving around furniture and vacuuming. John is taking Jack to Gymboree this morning so I'll vacuum after they leave - Jack is scared to death of the vacuum! Just the sight of it throws him into a fit!

John gave me a beautiful necklace and matching bracelet this morning. They're pink and clear jewels and the bracelet has a butterfly charm on it! (My friends, Elaine and Carrie, would love it!) I'll try to get a good picture later to post!

So that's all for now! (as if that's not enough!) Hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!

Just for the sake of scrapbooking.

I did some scrapping this evening... just for the sake of scrapping! Nothing for my website. Nothing for a gift. Just for fun. And I actually ENJOYED it! I forgot that scrapbooking was actually an ENJOYABLE hobby!!

I bought this stuff at Target ages ago and never did anything with any of it. It was just so cute - I couldn't pass it up. Well, I ran across it during one of my purging sessions this week and figured I either needed to use it or lose it!

So I did this layout with some pictures I had sitting around. Not the best pictures - but not the best layout either. It took about ten minutes and I think it's completely adorable. I guess it helps that it's about my favorite subject in the world - THE JACK ;)

I've been using white backgrounds a lot lately. Not sure what's up with that... but I do love how easy it is to just grab a white piece of paper and start building on it - rather than trying to find the perfect piece of cardstock. It's kind of forcing me to use up some of my stash of embellishments. So that's a good thing.

ALSO - My cousin, Cindee, is visiting from California now. She got in last night - she's staying with my (our) grandmother - and we spent the day at the pool today. We had SO MUCH FUN. She hadn't seen Jack since before he was even walking - the two of them got along famously. We got some awesome pictures. Can't wait to get them from Cin.

OH and one more thing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEENA! Hope your day was fabulous! *smooch*

So sad.

I got an email yesterday that my friend and former co-worker's little boy passed away on Wednesday. He was almost five years old and suffered for his whole little life with Tay-Sachs Disease. I have been choking back tears all day long - just to think of what his parents are feeling... there are no words.

It really puts things into perspective. Things that I think are so important... just aren't. Things that upset me so much... aren't really that upsetting.

To learn more about Tay-Sachs Disease and little Dylan, here's his website: Dylan James Manning Foundation

Have I mentioned that it's HOT!?

That's all.

Oh. My. Gosh.

I missed Project Runway last night. How on earth did I do that!? I was home... just doing other stuff, I guess, and I completely forgot about it! I'm seriously on the verge of tears right now - how pathetic is my life? I know it reruns, like, every other hour... but I wanted to see it when it first aired! And now that opportunity is gone forever. *sniff, sniff*

HOT.

That's all.

Jack and I met my friend, Kristi, and her son, Jack (OJ -"Other Jack") at Regal this morning for the free kiddie movie - Wallace and Grommet. I don't know how many more weeks I can take of feature-length cartoons. Seriously.

We had to pick them up this morning because Kristi's car is in the shop. So after the movie, we headed back to Kristi's house so the boys could play until they were both so cranky and bratty that we couldn't take it any more.

At that point, Jack and I came home. John had the brilliant idea (no, seriously, it WAS brilliant) to take Jack outside for a run through the sprinklers. I stayed in the AC and read my current book, "The Devil Wears Prada" (hilarious, by the way), only heading out into the heat for a long enough to snap a few pictures of the boys. They were having SUCH a fun time! I *almost* wanted to join them. ALMOST!

So here are a few pictures. How cute are they!? *beam*
