I'm such a slacker

It's been a whole week since I updated my blog. I've been so busy wrapping up the loose ends for next month's kit. This business sure does take up a lot of time! And I enjoy it so much - time just seems to fly when I'm working on it!

Besides all that, Jack and I were playing on my bed the other day and he jumped on my back. It didn't hurt at the time, but when I stood up and picked him up, I almost dropped him my back hurt so badly. And it has gotten worse every day. I'm taking lots of Advil and hoping it will heal on its own. I REALLY don't want to go to the doctor for this!

And one more thing before I go try to sort some laundry... If you buy something (let's say, a scrapbook monthly kit) on somebody's website using your husband's email address, please let him know so that when the owner of this website emails him about the order, he doesn't get all pissy and demand that the owner never emails him again. Just sayin'!

Weekend Warriors! (or whatever)

OK - so it took more like a week than a weekend... but Jack has a swingset! We bought the kit at Sam's Club and it only took John, my dad, John's friend, and myself (although my participation was limited) five days to get it together. Not exactly the one day that it said on the box *eyeroll*

Jack LOVES his new swingset. He's a little bit afraid of the sliding board, though... I think it's too fast for him. He needs to get used to it!

June Kit up at Cool Blue!

I worked so hard to get the ad change done on the site today! I'm all done, but I can't one of the pictures to work! It's a mystery! And I'm frustrated! So I'll work on that some more tomorrow. But in the meantime... June's kit!

What a WEEKEND!

What a crazy weekend! Busy, busy, busy!

The PA girls from a scrapbook message board I frequent planned an all-day crop for Saturday. What started as the "PA Crop" turned into the "East Coast (and beyond)" Crop! 16 of us showed up from all over. Most of us had met before, but there were a few new girls in the group. You wouldn't have known it, though! We all picked up chatting as if we'd been friends for years! What a fun time!

I had four girls "sleeping" (<--- I use that term loosely) here last night. Needless to say, I need to be getting to BED! I only got about three hours of actual sleep last night!

Who do I contact to get into the Guinness Book of World Records?

Pay attention, people, because this post could possibly go down in history as the most boring blog post EVAH!

Today, I have loads of laundry to do. That's it.

Happy Thursday!

I rocked the VOTE!

After running some errands, we went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch and stopped off to vote on the way home. At 2:30 in the afternoon, I was the 48th voter of the day. Pretty sad, huh?

Speaking of Chuck E. Cheese, I was thinking about what a charmed life Jack lives. I stay at home with him, John works from home... Jack is just so lucky to have both of his parents home with him all the time. When I was a kid, the only time you went to Chuck E. Cheese (I know it was called something else back then, but can't think of it) was when someone was having a birthday. My mom and dad and I simply did not just decide to stop there on the way home from running errands in the middle of the week. And if we DID, we CERTAINLY would not have ordered an overpriced pizza. We probably would have packed a pile of sandwiches and a thermos of cool aid. Times sure have changed. And while I LOVE to do fun things like this with Jack, it makes me wonder if he'll grow up just EXPECTING to do stuff like that all the time - and not really appreciate and enjoy it like I did.

Jack did have a bit of a breakthrough today! He rode on the Noo Noo ride in the toddler area! I know... this doesn't seem like a very big deal, but the last time I strapped my sensitive little boy into a moving ride, he almost had a stroke, he was screaming so loud in fear! He usually just admires the Noo Noo from afar, calling out to him and EVERY once in a while walking up to him and giving him a pat on the nose. But today he asked to ride him and he even ENJOYED it! Now, when the ride was done and I asked him if he wanted to ride again, he shook his head and said, "NO!" but that's ok! Baby steps!

Just another (Mother's) Day

It was pretty much "just another day" around here. Although, John did make pancakes for breakfast and they were DELICIOUS!!

Since the new year, Pastor Scott has been preaching along the theme of "Being a fool for Christ" - meaning... behaving in a way that seems foolish to the "world" (like being kind to people who haven't been kind to you and such) in an effort to be more like Jesus. So all of our church sermons have been about great "fools" in the bible - people who have acted foolishly and not obeyed God and the consequences. Well, in an effort to tie yesterday's sermon into a Mother's Day theme, Pastor Scott chose to talk about one of the very most foolish of all wives and mothers in the bible - Jezabel. Poor Jezabel - what a mess.

So, anyway, we did our usual thing after church - visiting my grandmother - and then all met back up for dinner at my parents' house. My dad fixed a Mother's Day FEAST! Steak and shrimp on the barbeque. Mmmmm!! And then for dessert we dug out the remainder of Jack's birthday cake from November. It wasn't TOO stale!

When we got home, Jack had just fallen asleep in the car and it was all I could do to get him to sit up for a few minutes to change his clothes and wash his face. Poor little guy was all pooped out from a very busy day.

Today - no plans. It's freezing cold, raining, and MISERABLE. I think it's a perfect day to stay in our jammies and get caught up on the laundry!

Day 1

Alrighty - this is completely new to me.

After several friends (you know who you are!) encouraged me to start my own blog... here I am.
So now I just need to figure this thing out...

Dinner's almost done - or rather, almost ready to be picked up! More to come!
